  I was bullied so much here. Like other comments have said, there are drug problems, disciplinary problems, and racist/sexist/homophobic remarks constantly being said by the students. Also, I understand the students are like,,, preteens and young teens, but the staff has NO respect for the students. I remember last year my Spanish teacher went on maternity leave and we had a long-term sub for a couple of months. All he really did was make a few people do things and the majority of the class was just sitting there, either talking to friends or bored out of their minds. I wanted to be prepared for high school, so I asked him if there was something we could actually do instead, so he called me up in front of the class to recite the forms of a verb. I recited them correctly until about halfway through, when he stopped me and mentioned something that only advanced speakers would know that he didn't teach us, and said i had failed the class. I was having an anxiety attack the whole time and it was very traumatic for me as he humiliated me in front of everyone. Anyway, the vice principal called me down to her office later and YELLED at me. I was crying the whole time. She said it was his curriculum or something, but as someone who is actually effected by what is being taught, I feel like I should have a voice. Also, the counselor thinks having two people sit in a room and talk about an issue and then telling one of them that they're wrong and not addressing the actual issue is "problem solving". I had so many problems because of this school. I feel like the staff actually has no idea what they're doing and just show up to make money and hates kids.
  Mr. Morris (English) and Ezra (art) are amazing teachers however, and have taught me some of the most useful things. There are a few good apples in this rotten orchard, but overall this school is a very scarring experience and the best part was the 8th grade promotion, Oaks Park field trip, and dance. Other than that, I feel like I could write HOURS worth of a stand-up comedy routine based on the events that took place at this school. The staff needs to remember that not all students are complete idiots, and they need to give extra help to the ones that are.
